Founded in 2009, The Modern Family Boutique has been a trusted part of the Kamloops parenting community for almost 2 decades. What began as Lizzie Bits Baby Co., filling a need for children’s consignment clothing and cloth diapers, has continued to evolve alongside the families it serves.
Over the years, the shop grew to become much more than a place to shop, it became a place to gather, learn, and support one another through parenthood. In 2019, Lizzie Bits Baby Co. officially became The Modern Family Boutique, expanding its offerings to include children up to 10 years old, shifting its focus toward locally sourced, handmade clothing and accessories,
In 2026, The Modern Family Boutique entered an exciting new chapter under new ownership. Today, we are proud to continue building on this strong foundation while refreshing the shop with a renewed vision. Our focus is centered on babies and children under 6, offering a carefully curated mix of well-known, trusted name brands, beautiful everyday essentials, toys, and keepsakes with a focus of supporting local and mama-owned Canadian brands whenever possible.
We are deeply committed to supporting Canadian brands whenever possible, and we thoughtfully seek out products that are well-made, practical, and designed to be loved. Our goal is to create a space where both new and experienced parents feel comfortable asking questions, discovering new products, and finding meaningful items for every stage — from pregnancy and newborn days to early childhood.
